About Us

Serving Southern California's Legal Needs

When you have a legal problem or opportunity, there is nothing more important than knowing you have the right lawyer at your side. At Fernandez & Lauby LLP, thousands of satisfied clients since 1998 agree.

Senior partners Edward Fernandez and Kirk Lauby founded our firm in 1998 with a common belief that the focus of a law firm must remain on meeting the clients' needs. That means taking the extra measure to find intelligent, creative solutions to even the most complex problems.

Since we opened our doors, we have grown to expand our services by bringing in talented lawyers to represent our clients in ever expanding areas of law, allowing us to put multiple disciplines to work for clients with legal needs in areas, such as:

Our clients include individuals, organizations and corporations throughout Southern California. Our focus on building a team of trial attorneys with concrete experience and a commitment to providing quality service has helped us establish a strong reputation throughout the region.

Focused on Finding Solutions

Working with an experienced litigator is critical, but equally important is having knowledge and skill on your side, seeking the most effective solution and adapting to the ever-changing conditions of a case. Fighting in court is not always the best answer, and almost never the first option for resolving a client's concern, which is why we put emphasis, where appropriate, on negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.

Our attorneys work closely with clients, whether a personal injury victim struggling under medical debt or a corporation protecting key assets, to build a collaborative strategy that meets expectations while being cost effective.

Trial Victory -- Fernandez & Lauby attorney, Brian Mankin recently prevailed at trial on an employee's individual unpaid wage claim in San Bernardino County Superior Court. The employee claimed that he was required to work more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week, but was only paid for 40 hours per week. He also claimed that he was given inaccurate wage statements. The employer claimed that it did not owe any additional wages. Mankin filed a lawsuit for failure to pay minimum wages and overtime wages, as well as failure to provide breaks and accurate wage statements. Following trial, the court awarded the employee his unpaid wages, interest and various penalties, plus the employer was required to pay approximately $60,000 in attorneys fees and costs to Fernandez & Lauby. If you were denied wages, misclassified, not given all required breaks or have any other concerns about your pay or working conditions, feel free to call, or email, the employment law team at Fernandez & Lauby for a free consultation. Most unpaid wage cases are handled by the firm on a contingency basis, meaning you don't pay unless you win.
